Abstract:
Provided is a rod for braces that is highly rigid and highly resistant to deformation loads, and that is configured so as to reduce the chance of failure that could occur as a result of fixation by screws and to ensure significantly improved safety even when a failure occurs. A rod for braces according to one embodiment of the present invention has formed therein, when observed in cross section, the following which are layered alternatingly, multiple times each: a reinforcing fiber layer; and any one of a resin layer, a reinforcing fiber layer that has fibers different from the fibers of said reinforcing fiber layer, and a reinforcing fiber layer that has fibers extending at an angle with respect to the fiber direction of said reinforcing fiber layer.
