Abstract:
This roller bearing comprises inner and outer rings, and rollers (4, 5) placed between the raceway surfaces of the inner and outer rings. The outer peripheral surfaces of the rollers (4, 5) have DLC films (9). Recessed parts (16) in which a lubricant is held are provided in surface layers (9c) of the DLC films (9), the area ratio of the recessed parts (16) is 40% or less, and the size of the recessed parts (16) in a plan view is 10–100 μm. The DLC films (9) have a multilayer structure in which the surface layers (9c) and other layers are layered, and soft DLC having lower film hardness than the other layers is removed from the recessed parts (16) in the surface layers (9c).
