Abstract:
Provided is a rolling device that can be manufactured without complicated machining or lengthy processes for preventing surface damage and without costly processes, and that has a long service life without premature failures due to surface damage even when used when an oil film has been formed poorly on a rolling part. A rolling bearing 1 is provided with an inner ring 2 having an inner ring race surface 2a in the outer periphery thereof, an outer ring 3 having an outer ring race surface 3a in the inner periphery thereof, and a plurality of rolling elements 4 which roll between the inner ring race surface and the outer ring race surface, the inner ring 2 and the outer ring 3 being steel members subjected to a film-forming process using a polyhydric alcohol, the rolling elements 4 comprising steel members, and there being a hardness difference of at least one point on the Rockwell hardness scale between the steel member of the inner ring 2 and the steel members of the rolling elements 4, as well as between the steel member of the outer ring 3 and the steel members of the rolling elements 4.
