Abstract:
This rotary machine is provided with: small-diameter sections (31) and large-diameter sections (32), the small- and large-diameter sections (31, 32) being axially alternately provided on the outer peripheral section of a rotor (12); long fins (33) radially facing the small-diameter sections (31); and short fins (34) radially facing the large-diameter sections (32), the long and short fins (33, 34) being alternately arranged at predetermined axial intervals on the inner peripheral section of a labyrinth seal (35) constituting a seal device (16). The inner diameter of the labyrinth seal (35) on the upstream side of the short fins (34) in the direction of axial flow of steam (S) is set to be larger than the inner diameter of the labyrinth seal (35) on the downstream side of the short fins (34) in the direction of the axial flow of the steam (S).
