Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to achieve a rotating electrical machine that can eliminate a problem in conventional rotating electrical machines, namely, magnetic flux leakage, to a rotating shaft, from an electromagnetic brake that serves as a source of magnetism, thereby making it possible to suppress the adverse effects of magnetic flux leakage on a bearing. To achieve the foregoing, the present invention comprises the following: a rotating shaft 52; a bearing 56 that supports the rotating shaft 52; an electromagnetic brake 3 which is disposed on the outer circumferential side of the rotating shaft 52 and located between the bearing 56 and a rotor 51, and which secures the rotating shaft 52 when not magnetized and releases this securing when magnetized; magnetic flux blocking sections 4a, 4b disposed on the outer circumferential side of the electromagnetic brake 3; and slide contact sections 41a-41d which are disposed so as to be in contact with the magnetic flux blocking sections 4a, 4b and the rotating shaft 52 and which make contact at at least two locations at the bearing 56 side and the rotor 51 side. Magnetic flux generated from the electromagnetic brake 3 forms a closed circuit between the rotating shaft 52, the magnetic flux blocking sections 4a, 4b, and the sliding contact sections 41a-41d.
