Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a rubber composition which enables the production of a pneumatic tire that is capable of having a good balance between excellent wet grip performance and low rolling resistance; and a pneumatic tire which uses this rubber composition. A rubber composition according to the present invention contains an aromatic modified terpene resin and a diene rubber that contains 10% by mass or more of a modified diene polymer. The modified diene polymer is a modified polymer that is obtained by modifying (A) an unmodified diene polymer with (B) a nitrone compound having a carboxy group. The content of the aromatic modified terpene resin is 0.1-50 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber.
