Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a rubber composition for a tire that, in the case where a hydrogenated copolymer and a liquid rubber are used in combination, exhibits improved rupture strength and wear resistance while maintaining workability which is a property of liquid rubber; and a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition. The present invention is a rubber composition for a tire, the rubber composition containing: a rubber component containing (A) a hydrogenated copolymer obtained by hydrogenating an aromatic vinyl–conjugated diene copolymer, and configured such that a weight-average molecular weight measured using gel permeation chromatography is at least 300,000, and such that the hydrogenation rate of the conjugated diene part is at least 80 mol%, and (B) a liquid rubber; and sulfur. The rubber composition for a tire is characterized in that: the (A) hydrogenated copolymer content ratio is 80–95 parts by mass and the (B) liquid rubber content ratio is 5–20 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component; and the content ratio of the sulfur is 15–30 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the (B) liquid rubber.
