Abstract:
Provided are: a rubber composition for tires, the rubber composition being capable of improving abrasion resistance while maintaining vulcanization speed; and a pneumatic tire using the same. The rubber composition for tires is a hydrogenated copolymer in which an aromatic vinyl-conjugated diene copolymer is hydrogenated, the rubber composition being characterized by having a weight average molecular weight of at least 300,000 as measured by gel permeation chromatography, and containing 0.3-3 parts by mass of a thiuram-based vulcanization accelerator with respect to 100 parts by mass of a rubber component containing a hydrogenated copolymer in which the hydrogenation ratio of conjugated diene portions is 80 mol% or more.
