Abstract:
Provided is a rubber composition whereby a tread rubber can be manufactured having high braking performance on dry road surfaces as well as high braking performance on wet road surfaces more conducive to slippage than asphalt, such as manhole covers. This rubber composition is characterized by being obtained by blending a rubber component (A) including at least 70% by mass of natural rubber, and blending 5-50 parts by mass of at least one species of thermoplastic resin (B) selected from the group consisting of a C5-base resin, a C5-C9-based resin, a C9-based resin, a terpene-based resin, a terpene-aromatic-compound-based resin, a rosin-based resin, a dicyclopentadiene resin, and an alkylphenol-based resin and 20-120 parts by mass of a filler (C) including silica with respect to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component, the silica content in the filler (C) being 50-100% by mass.
