Abstract:
A rubber composition for tires which ensures excellent grip performance on ice, wear resistance and steering stability, and pneumatic tires using the same are provided. The present invention pertains to a rubber composition for tires which contains, relative to 100 parts by mass of a rubber component, 10 to 150 parts by mass of silica and 10 to 30 parts by mass of a hydroxyl-bearing diene-based rubber gel having a glass transition temperature of -40 to 0°C and in which the content of a butadiene rubber (a) in 100 mass% of the rubber component is 30 to 90 mass% and the content of a diene-based rubber (b) therein is 10 to 60 mass%, said diene-based rubber (b) being other than the rubber (a) and having a glass transition temperature of -60°C or lower.
