A rubber composition for torsional dampers that has (A) a minimum value of tanδ at -30°C to 120°C of 0.140 or greater, (B) a value of tanδ at -30°C which is up to 3.5 times that at 60°C, and (C) a value of E' at -30°C which is up to 21 times that at 60°C.
