Abstract:
There is provided a SIP telephone capable of reducing the time required for call control and performing communication even when canalization with a proxy server is disabled. A VoIP system (10) includes SIP telephones (18-12), a NAT (17) for connecting the SIP telephones (18-22) to the Internet network (13), a first and a second proxy server (14, 15) connected to the Internet network (13), and an emergency gateway (23) for connecting the SIP telephones to the public telephone network (16). When establishing a call, the SIP telephones (18-22) transmit a request successively to the first and the second proxy server in this order. If canalization with either of the proxy server is disabled, the request is transmitted to the emergency gateway (23) to establish a call and a timer built in the SIP telephones (18-22) is set to an arbitrary value, thereby reducing the time out time of the response.
