Abstract:
This sealing device seals the gap between a housing and a rotating shaft which is disposed in a shaft hole provided in the housing. The sealing device is provided with: a ring-shaped attachment section attached to the inner peripheral surface of the shaft hole; an inner ring-shaped section disposed radially inside the attachment section; a seal lip extending from the inner ring-shaped section and in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft; a bellows section connecting the attachment section and the inner ring-shaped section; a sound-insulating ring which is affixed to the attachment section, expands radially inward from the attachment section, and has an opening through which the rotating shaft extends; and a circular ring-shaped sound-insulating lip protruding toward the sound-insulating ring from the inner ring-shaped section or the bellows section and having a tip in slidable contact with the sound-insulating ring. The sound-insulating ring has: a circular ring section with which the tip of the sound-insulating lip is in contact; and a protruding wall disposed radially inside the circular ring section and radially outside the opening and protruding toward the inner ring-shaped section.
