Abstract:
One of the purposes of the present invention is to provide a secondary battery in which a positive electrode and a negative electrode are disposed so as to face each other via an insulation layer, wherein short-circuiting caused by deposition of metal within the insulation layer is inhibited. This secondary battery is provided with: a battery element comprising at least one positive electrode 11 and at least one negative electrode 12; and an outer package body which seals the battery element together with an electrolyte. The positive electrode 11 and/or the negative electrode 12 has a collector, an active material layer formed at least on one surface of the collector, and an insulation layer 112 formed on the surface of the active material layer. The electrolyte contains an electrolyte component and a crosslinked gelling agent. The gelling agent is disposed at least between the active material layer of the positive electrode 11 and the active material layer of the negative electrode 12, and is configured such that a proportion Rg of the gelling agent with respect to 100 mass% of the electrolyte component satisfies 0
