Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a new secondary cell for which cost is low, energy is conserved, and with which CO2 is reduced; and an electrolyte solution for a secondary cell. [Solution] The problem is solved by a secondary cell (10) having a positive electrode (1) containing a metal as a positive electrode active substance, a negative electrode (2), and an electrolyte solution (3). The electrolyte solution (3) contains an electrolyte and a solvent, and the electrolyte contains an ionic compound MX (where M is a metal ionic substance and X is an anionic substance). In this case, the electrolyte can be configured so as to be dissolved in the electrolyte solution or to be used as a solid, and the negative electrode (2) can be configured so as to contain a negative electrode active substance for metallizing, by reducing, the metal ionic substance M, or storing the metal ionic substance M.
