Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a separator for a lead-acid battery, the separator being capable of suppressing electrolyte stratification and of improving battery reliability of the lead-acid battery (an extended lifespan during an idle stop operation, and capacity detection stability). [Solution] A separator for a lead-acid battery comprises: a porous back web; and a plurality of ribs extending from each of the two surfaces of the back web. The separator for a lead-acid battery is characterized in that the ribs, which are on a surface that makes contact with a positive electrode plate, are fractured ribs, wherein the fractured ribs are linear fractured ribs which each have a shape with two or more bend points and which are each bent in a zigzag at two consecutive bend points, or curved fractured ribs that each have one or more inflection points.
