Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a separator for a non-aqueous secondary battery, the separator comprising a porous base material and a heat-resistant porous layer that is provided on one surface or both surfaces of the porous base material and contains a resin and inorganic particles, wherein: (1) said resin includes a copolymer having a fluorinated vinylidene unit and a hexafluoropropylene unit and having a weight-average molecular weight of at least 10,000 and less than 60,000, or includes a resin containing a polyfluorinated vinylidene resin and an acrylic resin, the mass ratio of the polyfluorinated vinylidene resin and the acrylic resin contained in the heat-resistant porous layer being 90:10 to 50:50, the mass percentage of the inorganic particles in the heat-resistant porous layer is 50 mass% to 90 mass%, and the inorganic particles include first inorganic particles having an average primary particle size of 0.01 μm to 0.3 μm and second inorganic particles having an average primary particle size is larger than that of the first inorganic particles; (2) the mass percentage of the inorganic particles in the heat-resistant porous layer is 50 mass% to 90 mass%, and the inorganic particles include first inorganic particles that are metallic sulfate particles and second inorganic particles that are not metallic sulfate particles; or (3) the mass percentage of the inorganic particles in the heat-resistant porous layer is 50 mass% to 90 mass%, and the inorganic particles includes first inorganic particles that are metallic hydroxide particles and second inorganic particles that are not metallic hydroxide particles.
