Abstract:
The present invention provides a sheath-core type polyester composite fiber which has sufficient conductive performance and strength, while exhibiting excellent conductive performance even after 100 washing cycles. A sheath-core type polyester composite fiber according to the present invention is composed of a core part and a sheath part; the core part is configured from a core part-forming composition that is mainly composed of a polyester resin which comprises ethylene terephthalate as a main repeating unit, while containing 1% by mole to 15% by mole of isophthalic acid per 100% by mole of the acid component; the sheath part is configured from a sheath part-forming composition that is mainly composed of a polybutylene terephthalate, while containing 20% by mass to 35% by mass of a conductive component; the area ratio of the core part to the sheath part ((core part)/(sheath part)) in a cross-section that is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the yarn is 60/40 to 90/10; and all the physical properties (a) to (c) described below are satisfied. (a) The break strength of the composite fiber is 3.0 cN/dtex or more. (b) The crystallinity of the composite fiber is 27% to 37%. (c) The initial electrical resistance of the composite fiber is 5.0 × 108 Ω/cm or less.
