Abstract:

There are provided a sheet-shaped object processing device and method capable of easily modifying various settings, rewriting control software, and collecting operation history and the like without requiring a separate installation space for an IC card reader/writer and the like. An identification unit identifies a sheet-shaped object conveyed. When the identification unit determines that the sheet-shaped object is an IC sheet, an antenna performs read-out and write-in of amount-of-money information and point information in the IC chip ,or write-in of set information based on the set information in the IC chip and rewrite of control software according to control software, or write-in of storage information into the IC chip from the sheet-shaped object processing device, a vending machine.
