Abstract:
A shock absorber (A1) is provided with: a housing (5) having an annular nut section (5a) screwed onto a distal end section outer periphery of a piston rod (3), an annular flange section (5b) projecting to the outside from the nut section (5a), and a cylinder section (5c) extending from the outer periphery of the flange section (5b) in a direction going away from the piston rod (3); a cylinder (6) inserted into the housing (5); and an elastic member (7) that is mounted on the inner periphery of the cylinder (6), and that partitions the inside of the housing (5) into a first chamber (P1) communicating with an extension-side chamber (L1) and a second chamber (P2) communicating with a pressure-side chamber (L2), the cylinder (6) being interposed and fixed between the flange section (5b) and a bend section (5d), which is a support section formed by swaging inwardly the distal end of the cylinder section (5c).
