Abstract:
This signal processing device comprises a masking assessment unit for assessing the masking state of a content sound and an ambient sound by using content sound data that has a plurality of channels and is outputted from a plurality of acoustic output drivers disposed in an acoustic output device, ambient sound data obtained by a plurality of microphones that are disposed in the acoustic output device and collect ambient sounds, and information pertaining to the arrival directions of the ambient sounds. The signal processing device also comprises an acoustic processing control unit for performing control relating to acoustic processing in accordance with the result of assessment of the masking state by the masking assessment unit.
