Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a silicone-coated suture needle wherein the time required for silicone coating (including drying time) is reduced, and a production method for same. [Solution] To support on a horizontal plane a plurality of suture needles (10) comprising: a shaft (15) with a prescribed cross-sectional shape; and a tapered section (14) that continues from the shaft (15) and gradually narrows towards a sharp needle tip (13); to spray liquid silicone on the tapered section (14) from one side of the supported suture needles(10) and coat the needles to the other side of the tapered section (14); and to dry same at room temperature. Then, once this coating has occurred a plurality of times, to heat-dry the silicone.
