Abstract:
[Problem]
To provide sliding components with which friction can be reduced by interposing a fluid at sliding surfaces regardless of the direction of rotation, and with which sealing performance can be improved regardless of the direction of rotation.
[Solution]
Sliding components which slide relative to each other at a sliding surface S, wherein at least one sliding surface 5 is provided with polygonal multiple dimples 11 formed with a continuous peripheral edges. Among the peripheral edges of the polygonal dimples 11 a pair of peripheral edges A1-B1 and A1-C1 which extend radially with the radial axis R of the sliding component sandwiched therebetween are inclined so as to open toward a high-pressure-fluid side, and the length of a peripheral edge B1-C1 connecting the ends B1 and C1 of the pair of peripheral edges on the high-pressure-fluid side is equal to or less than the length of the pair of peripheral edges A1-B1 and A1-C1.
