Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a novel human antibody or an antigen-binding fragment thereof that recognizes the Smoothened (SMO) protein as an antigen and specifically binds to the SMO protein. The antibody according to the present invention specifically binds to the SMO protein, which is directly involved in major cancer progression processes such as the proliferation, migration, invasion, and metastasis of cancer cells, and blocks the progression of cancer cells, and can thus be advantageously used as a therapeutic agent for various cancers such as colorectal cancer, or resistant cancer, metastatic cancer, or recurrent cancer.
