Abstract:
This softened structure detecting method for detecting a softened structure within an inspection target of a metal member by means of ultrasound flaw detection includes: a setting step of setting an assumed particle size of crystal grains forming the softened structure; a determining step of determining a set frequency, which is the frequency of ultrasonic waves used for the ultrasound flaw detection, in such a way as to satisfy an ultrasonic wave condition defining a relationship between the assumed particle size and the set frequency; a flaw detecting step of executing ultrasound flaw detection with respect to the inspection target, by means of ultrasonic waves having the set frequency; and an assessing step of assessing the presence or absence of a softened structure in the inspection target on the basis of results obtained by executing the ultrasound flaw detection.
