Abstract:
Provided is technology that is suited for use in a vehicle and with which it is possible to display a space floating video with high visibility. The present invention contributes to "3. Ensure good health and well-being for all" and "9. Build infrastructure for industry, and technical innovation" which are sustainable development goals. This space floating video display device comprises a housing 106 inside which a video display device 1 is stored, and which can be attached to the ceiling or a position near the rearview mirror in a vehicle. A polarization separation member 101 and a retroreflective member 2 provided with a λ/4 plate 21 are disposed at a prescribed angle and are provided outside the housing 106. Video light of a specific polarization from the video display device 1 is reflected by the polarization separation member 101, retroreflected by the retroreflective member 2, and subjected to polarization conversion by passing through the λ/4 plate 21. The video light after the polarization conversion passes through the polarization separation member 101 and displays a space floating video 3 at a prescribed position.
