Abstract:
Prior sponge-mop wringers used surfaces to wring the mop, and therefore a large amount of force was required. Subsequently a roller-type wringer was conceived of, but the handle of the sponge-mop release plate interfered, and wringing could not be performed with one or more pairs of rollers. In order to wring a long sponge mop, a wringer longer than the mop head and a large dirty-water receptacle (bucket) were required, and the mop handle could strike surrounding people, objects, walls, and ceilings, preventing safe wringing. The present invention provides a sponge-mop wringer equipped with a pair of rollers comprising a gap-adjustment tool (6), which is a guide roller that presses against a removable plate (9) on which is mounted the sponge (7), and a wringing roller (2), the rollers being disposed in parallel with a gap therebetween. Attached to a wringer assembly (1) are: the rotatably supported wringing roller (2); a divider plate (3) for separating cleaning water to one side of the wringing roller; a cleaning water injection hole (4) bored in the divider plate; a cleaning-water receptacle (5) adjacent to the divider plate (3); and the gap-adjustment tool (6) for pressing against the removable plate (9) on which is mounted the sponge (7), the gap-adjustment tool being separated by a gap from the other side of the wringing roller. The wringer portion is fashioned into a longitudinal arrangement to obtain a longitudinal wringer that reduces the amount of cleaning water and allows a small amount of moisture to be included uniformly in the sponge mop in an appropriate amount, and a drive means for rotating the wringing roller (2) is provided, allowing for safe wringing without the mop handle (10) contacting surrounding people, objects, walls, or ceilings, and without the need to pull the mop handle (10) by hand.
