Abstract:
The present invention relates to a technique for designing a spread-spectrum clock generator. Instead of using a general sigma-delta frequency synthesizer or an analog frequency modulation system, the spread-spectrum clock generator of the present invention comprises a phase frequency detector (PFD), a charge pump (CP), a loop filter and an oscillator, the frequency of which is adjusted by an analog voltage signal and an N-bit digital signal. According to the present invention, the spread-spectrum clock generator can be easily produced, and is advantageous in that a frequency modulation ratio is insensitive to the power voltage and peripheral temperature (PVT) variation and process variation.
