Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a stacker crane whereby the weight of a mast can be reduced, facility cost increases can be prevented, and objects can be transferred to target positions. [Solution] A stacker crane comprising: a traveling body 11 that has a travel drive unit 11a and travels a track 4 provided on the ceiling 5 side of a facility; a mast 12 that is suspended from the traveling body 11; an elevation platform 13 that is guided by the mast 12 so as to be freely movable up and down; a transfer device 14 that is provided on the elevation platform 13 and transfers objects 2; a fixing unit 15 that fixes the mast 12; and a switching unit 35 that switches between a fixed state for the mast 12 caused by the fixing unit 15 and a release state. When the travel drive unit 11a causes the traveling body 11 to travel, the switching unit 35 releases the fixing by the fixing unit 15 and causes a lower section, relative to an upper section, of the mast 12 to follow the travel direction of the traveling body 11. When the travel drive unit 11a stops the traveling body 11, the fixing unit 15 fixes the mast 12.
