Abstract:
A steel pipe with multilayer protective coating wherein in the formation of a multilayer protective coating layer on a steel pipe surface, a surface coating layer exhibiting high adhesion and high corrosion resistance identical with or superior to those of conventional chromate coatings is provided without the use of toxic hexavalent chromium, etc. In particular, a steel pipe with multilayer protective coating comprising a steel pipe and, superimposed on the circumferential surface thereof, a zinc electroplating layer, a 0.01 to 2 μm thick zinc phosphate coating layer formed on the zinc electroplating layer by electrolysis and a synthetic resin layer formed on the zinc phosphate coating layer by coating or extrusion.
