Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a new technology whereby the steering feel of a steering system can be improved. [Solution] A steering device is equipped with: a first actuator that enables a reaction force to be generated at the steering side; a second actuator that enables wheels to be turned at the turning side; a clutch unit that switches between connection and disconnection of a torque transmission path between a first rotary shaft and a second rotary shaft. The clutch unit is configured such that a predetermined amount of relative rotation is permitted between the first rotary shaft and the second rotary shaft when the torque transmission path is in the connected state. When information predicting that there is not enough output for turn position control by the second actuator or information indicating that the output is insufficient is obtained, a control unit switches the clutch unit so as to connect the torque transmission path such that the torque given to the first rotary shaft by the first actuator can be transmitted to the second rotary shaft.
