Abstract:
The present invention relates to, inter alia, a gene involved in the reactive oxygen species (ROS) resistance of a plant, a plant cell having ROS resistance utilizing the gene, and a plant that has increased CO2 fixation and that is configured from the plant cell. More specifically, a plant cell according to the present invention has reactive oxygen species (ROS) resistance and includes a modification of at least one endogenous gene according to any of the following (a)-(c) that reduces the function of the gene: (a) a gene including a base sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOs: 1-8; (b) a gene including a base sequence having 80% or greater sequence identity with a base sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOs: 1-8; and (c) a gene that is capable of hybridizing, under stringent conditions, with a gene including a base sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOs: 1-8.
