Abstract:
A crash box (20) is provided with a structural material body (22) and a connection part (30) that is used for connection to a front side member (11). The connection part (30) has a first attachment plate (31) fastened to a flange (14) of the front side member (11), a second attachment plate (32) attached to a side surface of the structural material body (22) and intersecting with the first attachment plate (31), and ribs (33) obliquely stretching between the first attachment plate (31) and the second attachment plate (32) and intersecting with both the first attachment plate (31) and the second attachment plate (32). The connection part (30) is a fiber-reinforced composite material containing a composite of a fiber structure (21) made of a fiber bundle and a matrix material. Wefts (26) continuously extend across the first attachment plate (31) and the ribs (33), and wefts (26) continuously extend across the second attachment plate (32) and the ribs (33).
