Description:
STRUCTURE FOR FIXING GRINDING PAPERS IN WHEEL PAPER FOR HAND-HELD GRINDER

Technical Field The present invention relates to a structure for fixing grinding papers applied to a wheel paper of a circular plate shape, which is coupled to a rotary shaft of a hand-held grinder to support and rotate the grinding papers. More particularly, the present invention relates to a structure for fixing grinding papers wherein a support member is integrally disposed upright at one side of an insertion hole of a wheel paper into which grinding papers are inserted, thus supporting the sides of the grinding papers when the wheel paper is rotated, whereby the support strength of the grinding papers is improved to increase the contact force when the grinding papers are rubbing against a subject to be grinded, a working time is shortened and work efficiency is improved through improved grinding efficiency, the tips of the grinding papers that are difficult to use due to the bending property can be used through a reinforced strength of the grinding papers, the whole surface of the grinding papers can be thus used, usage efficiency of the grinding papers is maximized and the life of the grinding papers can be extended.

Background Art An existing structure for fixing grinding papers applied to a wheel paper 20 for use in a hand-held grinder has a structure in which a rotary shaft S of an electric motor M is inserted into an slant plate 21, and a plurality of insertion holes 22 into which a plurality of stacked grinding papers 23 are inserted are formed in the slant plate 21, as shown in FIG. 4.

In such a structure, however, only fixed ends of the grinding papers 21 are simply fixed by means of the insertion holes 22 and an adhesive, as shown in FIG. 5.

Thus, supported portions of the grinding papers are limited to narrow portions and are concentrated to only one end. The grinding papers itself cannot be reinforced in the length direction.

Therefore, if a subject is grinded using the grinding papers as shown in FIG. 2, the grinding papers are easily bent even when a pressurized contact force is increased slightly in order to increase the frictional force, as shown in FIG. 5. The tips of the grinding papers are floated from the subject to be grinded, thus preventing a grinding work from being efficiently performed. If a corresponding pressurized contact force is used intact, not only grinding efficiency is lowered but also some of the grinding papers cannot be used. Accordingly, there is a problem that the grinding

papers must be frequently exchanged due to the shortened life of the grinding papers.

Meanwhile, if the contact force is reduced in order to use the tips of the grinding papers, the grinding ability is degraded to extend a work time. It lowers work efficiency.

Disclosure of Invention Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a structure for fixing grinding papers in a wheel paper for use in a hand-held grinder wherein the support strength of the grinding papers is improved to increase the contact force when the grinding papers are rubbing against a subject to be grinded, whereby a working time is shortened and work efficiency is improved through improved grinding efficiency, the tips of the grinding papers that are difficult to use due to the bending property can be used through a reinforced strength of the grinding papers, the whole surface of the grinding papers can be thus used, usage efficiency of the grinding papers is maximized and the life of the grinding papers can be extended.

In order to accomplish the above objects, support members of a predetermined height are inserted into insertion holes of a wheel paper into which grinding papers are inserted, whereby the sides of

the grinding papers are supported when the wheel paper is rotated.

Brief Description of Drawings Further objects and advantages of the invention can be more fully understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a dismantled perspective view illustrating a hand- held grinder according to an embodiment of the present invention; FIG. 2 is a lateral cross-sectional view showing a state where the hand-held grinder according to the present invention is applied ; FIG. 3 is an exaggerated cross-sectional view illustrating a state where the hand-held grinder according to the present invention is applied ; FIG. 4 is a dismantled perspective view illustrating a hand- held grinder in the related art ; and FIG. 5 is an exaggerated cross-sectional view illustrating the hand-held grinder in the related art.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention The present invention will be described in detail by way of preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a dismantled perspective view illustrating a hand-

held grinder according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a lateral cross-sectional view showing a state where the hand-held grinder according to the present invention is applied, and FIG. 3 is an exaggerated cross-sectional view illustrating a state where the hand-held grinder of the present invention is applied.

The hand-held grinder according to the present invention includes a fixing member 1 having a connection hole 2 formed at its center, wherein a rotary shaft S of an electric motor M is inserted into the connection hole 2, and an slant plate 3 inclined upwardly and outwardly, which is integrated with the fixing member 1.

The slant plate 3 includes a plurality of insertion holes 5 formed at an equal distance. At this time, a plurality of stacked grinding papers 4 are inserted into the insertion holes 5.

Support members 10 are inserted into the insertion holes 5, more particularly one ends of the holes 5 where the grinding papers 4 are bent when they are rotated. It is appropriate that the height of the support member 10 approximately corresponds to the width of the insertion hole 5.

Meanwhile, a reinforced rib for reinforcing the support strength of the support member 10 may be formed at the other side of the support member 10.

In the drawings,"G"indicates a subject to be grinded and "A"designates an adhered portion.

In the hand-held grinder constructed above, if the power source is applied to the electric motor M, the rotary shaft S of the electric motor M is rotated at high speed and the grinding papers 4 of the wheel paper connected to the rotary shaft S are thus rotated.

If the grinding papers 4 are inclined toward one side as shown in FIG. 2 and are thus closely adhered to the subject G to be grinded, the subject G is grinded by the tips of the grinding papers 4 as the tips of the grinding papers 4 are rotated in a direction where the wheel paper rotates in a slightly bent state. At this time, the support members 10 prevent the grinding papers 4 from being bent and thus support the grinding papers 4. The grinding papers 4 are actually bent on the basis of the tips of the support members 10.

Therefore, considering that the resisting force for the bending is increased in inverse proportion to the length of materials having the same strength, the length between lines where the bending occurs is shortened at the tips of the grinding papers and the support strength itself is increased to that extent. Even if the same pressure is applied compared to the related art, the degree of the bending is reduced due to the increased support strength. The subject G to be grinded is thus brought into contact with the tips of the grinding papers 4, as shown in FIG. 3. It is thus possible to prevent non-used areas from occurring.

Industrial Applicability According to the present invention described above, one sides of grinding papers are supported. The support strength of the grinding papers is improved to increase the contact force when the grinding papers are rubbing against a subject to be grinded. It is thus possible to shorten a working time and improve work efficiency through improved grinding efficiency. The tips of the grinding papers that are difficult to use due to the bending property can be also used through a reinforced strength of the grinding papers.

Furthermore, the present invention has effects that it can use the whole surface of the grinding papers, maximize usage efficiency of the grinding papers and extend the life of the grinding papers.
