Abstract:
A structure for the front of a vehicle body, in which a dashboard upper (17) for guiding outside air into a passenger compartment (15) houses an operating unit (40) that extends upward in order to lift up a front hood (31) by a prescribed amount when the vehicle (10) collides with a forward obstacle. The upward-extended operating unit (40) is attached to a vehicle body (11) so as to be capable of being displaced downward by external force applied from above. An opening (17d) for drain water is provided in a bottom surface part (17b) of the dashboard upper (17), the opening (17d) being arranged in a position through which the upward-extended operating unit (40) can be moved downward by external force applied from above.
