Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. According to the present disclosure, a method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system comprises the steps of: receiving, from a base station, a radio resource control (RRC) message including a configuration for candidates of a target cell for a handover; receiving, from the base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) including information indicating one target cell among the candidates of the target cell; performing a handover to the target cell indicated by the MAC CE; and transmitting a message indicating completion of the handover to the base station.
