Abstract:
A structure (10) for a vehicle side door is provided with: a door inner panel (30) which is disposed along the front-rear direction of the vehicle; and a door outer panel (40) which is disposed on the outside of the door inner panel (30) in the width direction of the vehicle. An impact beam (50) is disposed between the door inner panel (30) and the door outer panel (40). The impact beam (50) is disposed in such a manner that the longitudinal direction thereof is aligned with the front-rear direction of the vehicle. An impact beam extension (52) is provided at the front end (50F) of the impact beam (50). The impact beam extension (52) is overlapped and welded to a first facing wall (34C) which is formed on the front end side of the door inner panel (30) in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. Also, when viewed from the outside of the vehicle in the width direction thereof, the impact beam extension (52) is overlapped on at least a part of a through-hole (36) which is an example of a weak section and which is formed in the second facing wall (32A) of the door inner panel (30).
