Abstract:
A superconducting gravity gradiometer, and a method for improving the sensitivity thereof. The superconducting gravity gradiometer comprises: paired superconducting test masses (2, 6), paired negative-stiffness superconducting coils (3, 7), paired positive-stiffness superconducting coils (1, 5) and a superconducting circuit for coupling the paired test masses (2, 6) to create a two-degrees-of-freedom superconducting magnetic spring oscillator. The main points of the superconducting gravity gradiometer lie in that the negative-stiffness superconducting coils (3, 7) are introduced, and the negative-stiffness superconducting coils (3, 7) are connected in series by using a superconducting wire to form the superconducting circuit, so as to reduce the differential-mode stiffness of the two-degrees-of-freedom superconducting magnetic spring oscillator, and increase the ratio of common-mode stiffness to the differential-mode stiffness. When the method is used to construct the magnetic spring oscillator of the superconducting gravity gradiometer, especially construct a vertical diagonal component superconducting gravity gradiometer with the fully-magnetically-levitated test masses (2, 6), the sensitivity of gradient measurement can be significantly improved; and a common-mode rejection ratio is increased, thereby rejecting the interference of the motion acceleration of a mounting platform in the gradient measurement.
