Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a surfactant composition for a cosmetic, the surfactant composition making it possible to obtain a cosmetic that is excellent in bacteriostatic properties and moisture-retaining properties. The present invention provides a surfactant composition for a cosmetic, the surfactant composition containing an ampholytic surfactant (A) and an ester (B). The ampholytic surfactant (A) contains an ampholytic surfactant (a1) represented by general formula (1), the ester (B) contains an ester (b1) represented by general formula (2), and the weight ratio [(b1)/(a1)] of the ester (b1) with respect to the ampholytic surfactant (a1) is from 0.1 wt% to 10 wt%. The present invention also provides a cosmetic using the surfactant composition for a cosmetic.
