Abstract:
Provided are a sympathetic nerve depressant which depresses the activity of the sympathetic nerve in a more effective manner and a skin temperature reducing agent which reduces the skin temperature. Also provided are a cosmetic composition, food, and sundry items which exert a sympathetic nerve depressing effect or a skin temperature reducing effect. The activity of the sympathetic nerve is tranquilized by means of 1,8-cineol, and thus the sympathetic nerve depressant effectively depresses the activity of the sympathetic nerve. Moreover, 1,8-cineol reduces the skin temperature of cheeks and finger tips, and thus the skin temperature reducing agent effectively reduces the skin temperature. Additionally, the cosmetic composition, food, and sundry items containing the sympathetic nerve depressant or the skin temperature reducing agent, which comprise 1,8-cineol, exert a sympathetic nerve depressing effect or a skin temperature reducing effect.
