Abstract:
A synthetic resin bottle (1) with a cylindrical body section (3) has eight reduced pressure-absorbing panels (8) disposed at equal intervals on the body section (3) and pillar sections (9) made from arc-shaped wall surfaces (9a) that are respectively disposed between the reduced pressure-absorbing panels (8). The arc-shaped wall surfaces (9a) of the pillar sections (9) configure portions of an imaginary perfect circle (10) in a transverse cross-section of the body section (3) and the total of the circumferential lengths of the arc-shaped wall surfaces (9a) of the pillar sections (9) is 20-50% of the total circumference of the perfect circle (10). It is thereby possible to achieve a synthetic resin bottle that has a reduced pressure-absorbing function for absorbing reductions in the internal pressure and for which the external appearance of the body section appears to have a cylindrical shape that approximates a perfect circle.
