Abstract:
The invention relates to a system comprising a consumer good (12), in particular a drug package, cigarette pack, or article of clothing, and a server (16, S), the consumer good (12) being provided with a code (20) in a concealed manner, and the code (20) and preferably also a telecommunication number of the server (16, S) being provided on an information carrier (30), preferably the same information carrier, and the information carrier having been transferred to the consumer good, the code (20) and preferably also the telecommunication number of the server being concealed by a coating (34), which cannot be removed in a nondestructive manner, but which the purchaser of the consumer good can remove such that the code (20) can be detected by the purchaser of the consumer good either visually or tactilely or by means of an automatic detecting device (14) operated by the purchaser, and transmitted to the server (16, S) by means of a telecommunication link, wherein the server (16, S) is designed to check if the code (20) is registered as valid, and wherein the server (16, S) is designed to transmit information about the authenticity of the purchased consumer good to the purchaser, which information depends on the check of the code (20), characterized in that further information (42), in particular product information, is provided on the information carrier (30) in machine-readable form and said information is machine-detectable, including in the intact state of the coating (34) that cannot be removed in a nondestructive manner, in that the coating (34) that cannot be removed in a nondestructive manner is omitted in said region (38) or is transparent for detection purposes in said region.
