Abstract:
A rendering system, includes: a processor; and a memory storing a computer program, when executed by the processor, that causes the processor to: create expression graphs based on rendering pipelines of arbitrary inverse graphics application; setup optimizing target nodes and finding paths from the optimizing target nodes to evaluating nodes; perform all forward calculations based on the expression graphs; cache values of the nodes to be cached; evaluate errors between current output values of evaluating output nodes and their desired output values specified by the inverse graphics application; perform backward calculation of gradient using the cached values, from the evaluated output nodes to the optimizing target nodes; update the values of the optimizing target nodes using the gradient; perform minimum required forward calculation reactively using the cached values; and determine whether the errors converge. The system achieves high development productivity, less computational time using reasonable peak memory usage and high application interactivity.
