Abstract:
The present invention provides an application level crossbar for allowing communication across containers/lightweight virtual machines, the application level crossbar or software crossbar or software defined switch provides a unified communication interface for the application layer. It abstracts the details of connection management and message sending and receiving. The software defined switch /application level crossbar utilize the fact that the domain sockets can be used to connect network spaces without affecting isolation for intra host message exchange thus improving performance of message exchange for intra host virtual machines.
