Abstract:
This tape feeder comprises a tape conveyance path which extends, to a front supply position where a component is supplied, from a rear insertion position where carrier tape is inserted, and a tape conveyance mechanism which conveys the carrier tape inserted from the insertion position to the supply position, wherein: the carrier tape includes a cavity that opens upward for storing the component, embossed carrier tape having base tape having two side edges extending outward in the tape width direction from a position higher than the lower surface of the cavity, and cover tape that covers the cavity; the tape conveyance path includes a supply-side conveyance path having two conveyance guides contacting the lower surface of the two side edges and a guide trench which is formed between the two conveyance guides and into which the cavity enters, and an insertion-side conveyance path which is disposed on the rear side of the supply-side conveyance path and has a bottom part contacting the lower surface of the cavity, and an inclined guide that gradually separates upward from the bottom part progressing from the insertion position toward the front, while being in contact with the lower surface of the side edges.
