Abstract:
A tapered roller bearing in which a flange section is formed at least on a large diameter-side end section of an outer ring raceway surface of an outer ring and in which it is possible to easily remove a roller-holder assembly from the outer ring without destroying the holder from an assembled state. A holder 15 formed from an elastically deformable resin comprises a large diameter ring section 15a on a large diameter side, a small diameter ring section 15b on a small diameter side, and a pillar section 15c spanning the area between the large diameter ring section 15a and the small diameter ring section 15b, the outer circumferential surface of the large diameter ring section 15a includes a notch 15f with a thickness thinner than that of the pillar section 15c, and the outer diameter surface of the notch 15f protrudes from a small end-side width surface 12c of an outer ring 12 when the outer ring 12 and the roller-holder assembly are assembled. When the length of the part of the outer ring not protruding from the small end-side width surface 12c is denoted by T, the height from an outer ring raceway surface 12a to the tip of the flange section 12b is denoted by x, the angle formed by a bearing shaft relative to the contact surface between the flange section 12b and an end surface of a tapered roller 14 is denoted by α, and the angle formed by the bearing shaft relative to the outer diameter surface of a notch 12f is denoted by β, the relationship T > (x*sinα)/sinβ is satisfied.
