Abstract:
Disclosed are a task management method and a terminal device, which are used for directly displaying a background task of the terminal device in a side area without the need for calling out and viewing the task by a user by means of a task manager application, so that the page display of a foreground application of the terminal device is not interrupted, thereby improving the interface experience of the user. The method in the embodiments of the present application comprises: a terminal device identifying a side area of the terminal device, wherein the side area is an area, other than a screen area occupied by a foreground application of the terminal device, in a screen area of the terminal device; and the terminal device displaying a background task of the terminal device in the side area.
