A conventional heat pump system with a thermal storage section has had problems of an installation space and construction because the system requires a large capacity hot water storage tank. A thermal storage-type heat pump system has a heat pump cycle, first storage means (12) for storing a thermal storage material, first refrigerant/heat storage material heat-exchange means (2) for heating and decomposing the thermal storage material by heat from a refrigerant, second refrigerant/heat storage material heat-exchange means (13) for transmitting heat from the separated thermal storage material to the refrigerant, second storage means (10) for storing the decomposed heat storage material, and heat-producing means (6) for producing heat by recombining the thermal storage material stored in the second storage means (10) and heating a heat medium. The first refrigerant/heat storage material heat-exchange means (2) is also used as a heat radiator (2) of the heat pump cycle, and the second refrigerant/heat storage material heat-exchange means (13) is also used as at least part of an evaporator (4) of the heat pump cycle.
