Abstract:
This three-dimensional data encoding method comprises: calculating (S8501) a plurality of coefficient values from a plurality of attribute information items of a plurality of three-dimensional points included in point cloud data; generating (S8502) a plurality of quantization values by quantizing each of the plurality of coefficient values; and generating (S8503) a bit stream including the plurality of quantization values. The plurality of coefficient values belong to any of a plurality of layers, and each of a predetermined number of layers among the plurality of layers is assigned a quantization parameter for the layer. During the quantization (S8502), each of the plurality of coefficient values is quantized using: if (i) a quantization parameter is assigned to the layer to which the coefficient value belongs, the quantization parameter; and if (ii) a quantization parameter is not assigned to the layer to which the coefficient value belongs, a quantization parameter assigned to one of the predetermined number of layers.
