Abstract:
A secondary battery according to an embodiment comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an alkaline aqueous solution. The positive electrode has an active material containing a nickel compound. The alkaline aqueous solution contacts the positive electrode and the negative electrode. For complex ions, the product of the valence and the molar amount per 1 dm3 is -2.0 or less.
